So, today I went into the city for a video shoot for Autism Speaks’ “Autism Votes” ad campaign. The director guy was super nice and open to my suggestions about changing a few of the words in the scripted lines, which was really great. I then had to ad lib a bit and answer a few questions on camera (such as, “What do I want the president to do about autism?” / “What do I want America to know/do about autism?” etc.), which made me nervous…but according to those present, I “rocked the house,” “gave chills,” and “we could do a 30 second spot of just you [me].” I’m very happy with how it went overall, I have to say.
They’re going to be cutting the footage together by next week, is what I am told, and the goal is to have the ad on TV before the presidential debates start. (Also, it is just dawning on me that I am going to be in a national TV ad campaign, you guys. Whoa.) The clip will be online, too, so I will make sure to post it on here as soon as a copy of it is sent to me.

Believe me, I completely understand. I’ve been wary of them myself in the past, but honestly, almost everyone I have...

Okay. :D I was just wary of the Autism Speaks thing because of what’s been going on in my life lately.
